Nicole Cerniello, DVM, Medical Director
Dr. Cerniello was born in the nearby town of Dix Hills, NY. After attending veterinary school at Ross University and completing her clinical studies at Louisiana State University, she returned to New York where she spent two years practicing at an animal shelter before coming to Greenwich Village. Her special interests include dentistry, soft tissue surgery and emergency medicine. She has two cats, Pebbles and Mowgli. In her free time, she likes to do yoga before indulging in her guilty pleasure (watching The Bachelor) and enjoying all the food New York has to offer.
Chris Anderson, DVM
Dr. Chris Anderson grew up in and around Roswell, New Mexico. He went to Dartmouth College for his undergraduate education, then Colorado State University for Veterinary School. He’s practiced large and small animal medicine in his career. Most recently, Dr. Anderson practiced in Santa Fe, NM, where he spent twelve years at an AAHA-accredited small animal practice – before taking the Medical Director position at Eldorado Animal Clinic the last two years. After first benefiting from and then participating in mentorship in practice, he has come to enjoy working up cases in a cooperative environment and being part of great veterinary teams. He’s excited to be a part of GVAH! When not in the clinic, Chris can be found on poorly-planned and sometimes ill-fated adventures with his children or lunching and scheming with his beautiful, patient wife. He enjoys fishing, skiing, and writing. Moving to New York this year is a real leap of faith for his family, who are used to navigating New Mexico wildernesses, but have signed up for a new adventure in this urban one.
Tracy Sane, DVM
As of mid-September 2021, Dr. Sane’s services will be limited to performing surgery two days a week. A native of Tennessee, he grew up on a farm surrounded by animals of all kinds, which sparked his interest in the veterinary field. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. Dr. Sane has a special interest in surgery, i.e. orthopedic, soft tissue and laser surgery. In his free time, he enjoys reading, cooking, painting and drawing.
Matt Miller, DVM
Dr. Miller is a Kentucky native who fell in love with New York after spending a summer here writing for Slate magazine in 2016. Although his parents disliked animals, Dr. Miller discovered a passion for them by volunteering with friends at various humane societies and rescue groups back home. He graduated from Auburn University in 2019, and has special interests in pathology, neurology, dermatology and soft tissue surgery. He enjoys running, reading, and writing in his free time.
Dr. Miller currently works at GVAH as a per diem veterinarian several Saturdays a month.
Eric, Practice Manager
Eric grew up in a family of animal lovers. “As far back as I can remember we always had pets. I have photos with all of them.” Eric moved to NYC by way of Michigan in early 2001 and has worked in the animal-care industry since 2002. Eric is an avid cook, and will very happily tell you what he’s planning to make for dinner, though he may or may not invite you over to sample it.
Krystal, Technical Staff
Born and raised in Queens, Krystal graduated from Cornell with a BS in Animal Science. She has worked at Greenwich Village Animal Hospital since 2005 and everything she knows about teching was learned here. She doesn’t have pets of her own but she gets her fuzzy fix by petsitting. Outside of work, Krystal can be found snowboarding away the winter, indulging foodie tendencies around the city, and making the most of what the city has to offer with her friends.
Jason, Technical Staff
Born and raised on Long Island, Jason grew up having dogs and exotic pets. When he was a teenager, he worked at a local veterinary clinic, and that experience sparked his passion for being part of a veterinary medical team.
Steve, Technical Staff
A proud Bronx native, Steve has been a vet tech for 11 years. He has 2 dogs, Bowser and Bella, both of whom help him cheer on the Yankees. In his free time, he enjoys riding rollercoasters and tinkering with his Jeep Wrangler. His favorite part of his job is “the animals, of course.”
